Oberpullendorf

Oberpullendorf Oberpullendorf is a town in Burgenland and it is the administrative center of the district with the same name. It is located in the middle of the Burgenland, in the valley of the Stooberbach, and is divided in Mitterpullendorf and Oberpullendorf. Oberpullendorf was documented in 1225, as a Hungarian frontier guard settlement. In 1853 it became the location of a Hungarian revenue authority and was, like the rest of the country, a part of Hungary until 1920 - 1921.

Mattersburg

Mattersburg_webcam1Mattersburg is located in the northern part of Burgenland, and belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1920. After the end of WWI, German West-Hungary was given to Austria in the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon, and the new province of Burgenland was formed. Mattersburg kept the official name of Mattersdorf until June 14, 1924. A must do in this city, is visit the Forchtenstein Castle, that holds a large collection of art treasures and weapons from the Middle ages.
